I'll stick to my standby for my 1st breakfast of the day. Toast with Peanut Butter and Raspberry Preserves at 5:30AM followed by 2nd breakfast at 10AM of anything and sometimes everything from Canadian bacon & eggs on English muffin to three egg scramble with various diced veggies and ham and enough hot sauce to keep me awake till my afternoon nap.

I couldn't help myself when I opened the refrigerator and saw some ham! I toasted some bread and my Marmite was at the front so I tried that. An interesting flavor added but as I guessed to much salt. Still hungry so I toasted another couple of slices and reached back for the Vegimite. I thought I used more but didn't measure. Less noticeable taste but still there. Maybe my taste buds were use to the taste? Not bad but Not that great in my opinion.

Thanked: 983Not so much when you apply the ham and cheese as thin slices.
Which one in particular?! I have quite a few you know .
Marmite has more salty a taste than Vegemite. I'm happy to settle for a second opinion of "Not bad", especially from a first try. I hope you used a nice spread of real butter on the toast as well. Take it for granted that butter on toast/bread is a given with any of the 'mites. If you're worried about salt intake in your diet, use reduced or no salt butter.
What you non mitey people don't know, is that us mitey people know that all the mighty 'mites are mighty different in their mitey taste. They are all mighty good, but even mitey people have mighty varied tastes in the mighty 'mites of choice. For instance, I like all the mighty 'mites, but I have a preference for Promite, Vegemite and Marmite* (*Or 'Our Mate' as it's sold here)...Not a single Aussie 'mite amongst that lot either. Two Kiwi's and one Pom. And all varied from Promite being the sweetest to Marmite being the most savoury with Vegemite in the middle.
Perhaps I should do a comparison of all the mighty 'mites and list them from sweet to savoury, but I will tell you from the outset that Marmite is the most savoury (salty) of the lot. Promite is most likely the sweetest of them all, and Vegemite would be fighting for a middle spot with a couple of the others.
A good dollop of Vegemite with a bit of boiling water to turn in more liquid, then added to mashed potato is also good, but again we were fed this as kids and so it might be considered an acquired taste, but you really should try it sometime...Maybe just do a bit of Vegemite toast and put some mash over the top to see how it blends. I could wax lyrical about us mighty 'mite lovers and our mighty 'mites all day I suppose, but I had best stop here and let you non 'mitey people get on with your 'mitey less lives...

Thanked: 1160I like Vegemite more than Marmite, but I like both. Vegemite I could just eat from the spoon lol. I'm with you Mick....bring on the ham cheese and mite. Oh yes a bacon or bacon n egg sammie is excellent with vegemite. No problems no worries.
