When I was younger I ingested a *lot* of hemp seeds. Probably why I am so fit today.

Oh, and on a kinda related (but also sort of not related) note:

I got contact dermatitis about 6 weeks ago. Initially I thought it was tinea (started on my leg) and so did the Doctor - they put me on anti fungal orals because the tinea cream wasn't working. This in turn caused an internal reaction with sun exposure and I ended up with a horrible itchy, scaly rash on my arms and legs.

Long story short, ended up at a Dermatologist who fixed it all up immediately. My contact dermatitis turned out to be a Camphor Laurel reaction (had chopped down one and had been sawing it up for firewood).

Anyway, he told me to be careful around anything in the celery/parsley family as these are well-known to cause contact dermatitis in susceptible people. In biggish quantities, probably not in the quantities you guys use for your super drinks. But, just putting it out there.

    Stay safe people!

I was getting tired of having to toss lots of green stuff and running to the store every third day is time consuming so I found an excellent solution to my problem. I just stock up on my usual spinach, curly and Italian parsley, rapini, cilantro,... spend 15 minutes removing the necessary stems, cut up the good stuff, rinse everything, dry and fill up a few double zipper freezer bags and store it all in the freezer. Now I don't have to worry about wasting anything and since it's frozen I don't need to use ice cubes anymore. Works and blends like a charm.

I always do my "smoothie" after the gym with Vegan Protein Powder, blueberries, some kale, spinach (not too much iron), and water - my personal trainer told me that excessive dairy can lead to or continue joint pain...quite frequently after my weight training sessions, the joints would be sore...switched to this Vegan protein mix and after 6 weeks it's much reduced after a workout.

Another thing she mentioned that I've been doing lately is drinking the protein drink during the workout, supposed to keep your metabolism from going after muscle mass for energy.

Don't have a Vitamix blender, but a similar one that I try to make three days worth at a time....

Yeah that's the only way to go it seems. Now we don't worry about buying a bigger box of fruit. Whatever we don't eat we just freeze the rest for the blender...

I figure this thread is worth dredging up. Using a Vitamix is a great way to eat better and to use up produce on the verge of going bad. Pop it into the freezer and some time later add it to the blender.

Personally, I see no point in removing any stems. The Vitamix chews up everything!
