I shall remain a mite Purist and not mix. That said I find I like the Vegemite a wee bit more than Marmite, but still like Marmite just fine.

Which reminds me: smoked salmon bagels.
Pop a poppy seed bagel in a low oven to warm up, and go a bit crispy, A BIT not a lot.
Make avocado and mayo mix, 50/50, 1/4 of an avocado for one bagel.
Get bagel, cut open, put avo mix on bottom.
Put cream cheese on top half of bagel.
Put a good 2 teaspoons of capers on to avo mix, I prefer the ones in salt, but the ones in brine are good too.
put sliced smoked salmon on next, one decent layer.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Rocket or lettuce next.
Sliced up tomato - the thinner the better.
Close bagel and eat while still warm.

That sounds good, Ed. I'll have to try it some time.

I am sure delicacy translates as "a food the locals tell foreigners they eat so that the foreigner will eat it and the locals can laugh at the face they pull".
But if you like it, you go right ahead, though I may pass.

Of course we hope you will pull a funny face: the more foreigners do so the more is left for us to enjoy.
