Thanked: 127Today i tried for the First Time the Baltika No.8 Wheat Beer from St. Petersburg and, mhh, maybe a C-Rate, i know better Wheat Beers (especially from Bavaria). The Smell of the Baltika and the look are much better than the Taste, theres not much of that typical Yeast-Sweetness and Banana-like Taste that im used from the better Wheat Bears of the german South, the Baltika No.8 is more light (not in Alkohol with 5%) and has a unpleasing taste of Alkohohl in the Background, not my thing.

Thanked: 2284Cleaning up the basement today. Thought I'd stop for a pint. Today I'm drinking Lake of Bays Mocha Porter. I Love this one. Unfortunately it comes in a 750ml bottle. Maybe I just better stay sitting down.

HERE IS TO YOU BLUGIL.This afternoon was hectic; spend half a day with the missus at the doctors. I got home and uncorked one of my favorites: Dogfishhead 60 minutes IPA. The missus is fine and so am I. Boy, I love Beer!

Sunday afternoon suds
I am getting prepared for a hockey game; beers at the arena are expensive....$9 for a pint can of PBR! or a small bottle of Guinness....so I am front loading at home. Todays, victim is a very good craft beer: Local 1 brewed by the Brooklyn Brewery, this bad boy got a 100 at the Beer Advocate.com site...which means it is a world class beer, a Belgian strong ale packing 9% ABV. OK guys, let me know what your Sunday afternoon beer selection and consumption, if you don't have a pic, that's ok, let's keep this thread going in memory of Bluegil RIP.

Thanked: 127Today i had the Luck to taste another Bottle of a real Vintage german Beer, re-introduced after about 100 Years, the Grevensteiner is the Forefather of the today Veltins Pilsener. Well but it isnt a Pilsener, but i dont know if theres a correcht disambuguation to the english language, in Germany this kind of Beer is calles "Landbier" (engl. Country Beer), a lager-like Beer with much taste and much original wort, an ethnic beer, brewed like it was brewed for generations, i like these kind of beers although they are strong and you can easily drink the famous bottle too much :-)
