Hello, Drinkers of the Tea!!!
It has come to my attention that tea is grown in the Azore Islands. This comes as quite a shock, as all my grandparents came from the islands, and I thought I knew a thing or two about them. They have a plantation on Sao Miguel and have been growing since 1883. I mean, it makes sense, back in the 18th century the Portuguese were known to travel a bit and they grow bananas and pineapples there, so why not tea? It's a place called Gorreana Tea Estate. Has anyone tried their tea?? I have some on order, well, you KNOW I gotta try this stuff! I'll attach a link to their blog below. On the blog I saw a link for a recipe for tea flan. I'm not a big flan fan, and can't really see how infusing tea into the milk could help it, but, it's there if anyone wants to try.
