It is according to what you get, I prefer Rosa Monte with orange peels and honey. It is pretty strong at first and you have to have the right mixture of the Yerba and water - after you get that figured out it is delicious. Best thing to do is get a plastic mate and an inexpensive bombilla with a small package (you want to sweeten it up) and try it - I promise you will invest in it later.

It will give you a good dose of energy for longer with no side effects (no crash), no jitters or with me no anxiety. It acts as an appetite suppressant or if drank cold is a laxative.

In South America it is a social thing, and really brings people closer together.

will have to look into this for my wife, she has been caffine free for quite a while, but i think she would like something like that for her mornings.

Next time you're in the 'burg swing over to Martin's and look in the hippie section. I bought a pack of yerba mate in bags with stevia added last year. I'm not a huge fan of the stevia but in the winter I work two jobs and do two-three days a week if an extra 6 hours after my usual 8. It's wonderful to fill a thermos with hot water and whip out a tea bag when I get to the top of the hill, drink a cup or to and go strong till I get home.
(and a slight aside, Chad... I was almost bad today. I went to the gun show in woodstock today and saw a near mint Illinois horse hide strop for $30. If I wasn't saving up for an AR for coyote control I would have bought it in a heart beat)
