I recently broke the teapot out again and finished up the last of the bushells blue label tea i have had for ages.
When that ran out I had to resort to ripping open teabags, the tea seemed far worse, sort of like they put all of the ground up floor sweepings into it, whereas loose leaf consists of much bigger pieces of leaf.
anyway the tea i was making was pretty ordinary and had a lot of scum on it, despite me doing as I always do which is to put the leaves into the infuser in my pot, fill with hot water, pour out almost immediately and refill with water.
I got a chance to stop at the shops yesterday and bought some madurah premium (australian black tea), and some twinnings earl grey, i have made a 2 cup pot in my usual way with one teaspoon of each in and it is very nice, no scum, a small amount of staining on my cup and a lovely browney/ambery/strawey colour.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

i dont think it was age, the bushells blue label was fine (it was also loose leaf), when that ran out I started using the teabags work buy but ripped open, the tea from them was crap, in fact making tea from crap might have been more appealing.
I think i am getting a cold thanks to an inconsiderate workmate i hate colds i am rubbish at them.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

A dear friend of mine out of London send me some tea samples to try. He mostly only buys into the expensive high end teas. Since I only know my Japanese tea and have pretty much only been drinking it for the past 30+ years I know little about anything else except jasmine tea or pearls which I also love.
I received some Jasmine silver tips, Li Shan oolong, knotted tea and Silver Dawn Saffron tea. I decided to try the saffron tea for today.
What a yummy experience. Very mild, smooth, refreshing, fruity but with a saffron kick which is not too overpowering but definitely present with a nice lingering aftertaste. A high quality tea for sure. Love it.
