As you Gentlemen enjoy your drams, a thought comes to mind, at least for me!

I always tip the first one to health. Whether to whom I am with, or to myself, if alone.

    Speaking of health!
Go bid on my FINE, Unhoned Genco DeRoma in the Movember auction section.
    Right there in the classifieds!
    ALL proceeds go to Movember.

    Haahahaha. Priceless Tom!

Mike, It has a very buttery/caramel nose to it, and also taste as well. The double cask means it's first aged in oak barrels, and then transferred over into Sherry barrels. Makes for some sweeter tastes. Price is right too.

My wife and I toured the Aberlour Distillery in June. It was a fascinating tour in a beautiful old facility in a picturesque little Speyside village. The A'Bunadh was my favorite, but they were all good!Name: image.jpg

Nice! I've read and watched reviews of all the bottlings. Yes, the A'bunadh seems to be quite popular. Most of the older agings are far out of my price range.

That would a very cool tour to go on. To see all the stages of how the Scotch is made, and to see all the aging casks and know you might drink some of that exact stuff in the future. Very cool!

That would be because of the addition of caramel. That's certainly not its natural colour.

    Default nikka coffey whisky

Continuing my first venture into Japanese whiskys. Working my way through Nikka whiskys. The 17 and 21 year are to kill for. har! The coffey malt came today. This is my first venture into coffey distilled whiskys. A refreshing new taste for me. It seems bigger and more complex than their mainline single malt. More like their 17 year single malt but less expensive. The Nikka signature taste is big in all of them so far. Love it when distillers and wine makers have great signature taste. Of their coffeys I'm liking the grain over the malt.

Their 'From the Barrel' is next.

I use some coffee beans to help clear the nose and palate between comparison tastings. I'm finding this glass shape does improve the consistent tasting experience. I need to get a couple more whisky glasses.

Oh, enjoy it. IMHO Japanese whiskys have the best after taste. While traveling around Japan I visit different whisky bars. Yamazaki 12 is my favorite. Nikka Pure malt 17 was a very close second for me. Brought both bottles for less than 100usd each from a small family shop in Kyoto. I want to go back...
