Last night I tried this Bourbon. It had a a very sweet smell and flavorful taste. The finish was quite smooth, no bite at all. I enjoyed it. It was about $50.00.

Templeton rye was on sale, so I snagged a bottle. I've heard good things.

I managed to find a bottle of 12 year old cask strength lagavulin yesterday! I really wasn't expecting to at all so I'm really happy. The guy in the shop poured me a taste of octomore before I could stop him, and then a drop of a Douglas Laing bottling of 18 year old laphroaig for comparison. I probably don't need to say I'll be visiting that place again next time I'm in the area.

Had a very pelasant journey back to Norway. The guy in the tax free at Heathrow airport was giving out free samples of johnny walker island green. He appreciated my enthusiasm for whisky and also gave me a glass of a sherried Bushmills (possibly Steamship, but I didn't see the bottle) and then a glass of Johnny Walker Blue Label. All after I'd told him I already had my quota and couldn't buy anything.

These sort of people make your day don't they. Sometimes it feels like there aren't enough nice people in the world.
