Well those are some nice ones to start off with, one of my personal favourites is The Glenlivet 15y French oak reserve. Or a Glendronach 10y. That one's got a port finish. The first thing that hit me when I put my nose in that one is the sweet smell of black cherries. Very drinkable

I think I saw the Glenlivet 15 yo French Oak the last time I was whisky shopping. It might be out of my budget, though. I forgot to mention that my list is based on what is available locally so I have left some popular choices out. That Jura someone wrote about a couple of weeks ago sounded good.

It's me again...Has anyone made a drinking glass out of a whiskey bottle? I saw what I thought was a glass made out of a Bulleit Bourbon bottle in the cigar thread and wondered if it could be done with any whiskey bottle?

I bought a bunch of glasses made out of beer bottles for my brother this past Christmas. I picked them up from a woman in Eastern market in Washington DC. She cut the bottles In half and ground the edges down with an angle grinder.

I would venture to say that this could be done easily with the right equipment. She made shot glasses out of glass airplane bottles and vases out of 750mL bottles so any whiskey bottle should work!

Recently done Turkey 101, Turkey 80, and Walker Red. Trying to sample all the reasonably priced stuff to find a good go-to. But you have to buy it by the bottle... :-)

Yeah,Mcbladescar, that's the glass I saw. I saw a tutorial recently that shows a beer bottle being turned into a drinking glass and wondering if something similar could be done with a whisky bottle.

If you can turn a beer bottle into a drinking glass then why wouldn't you be able to do the same with a whiskey bottle? They're both glass
