Damn. Out of stock. It's a reasonable price though, and for the same cost, there's a gaja barolo wood finish as well, which sounds lovely.

Indeed. I know that it was a limited edition but I have no idea of how many are still in circulation. Mine isn't that's for sure

I'm certainly going to buy a sample of the other one.
It does say out of stock, as opposed to discontinued, though, so maybe there'll be more.

Nothing too special, but Canadian rye is my poison of choice. I have found this Wiser's particularly smooth with a nice caramel note. Not too sweet, and true to the roots of Canadian whisky.

I'm a big scotch man and while I prefer it to whiskey 99% of the time my wonderful girlfriend read about and discovered a great local distiller here in Nashville called Corsair. After going to their swanky bar and sampling all of their products I found myself to be a huge fan of all of their products. I walked away with a bottle of their triple smoked single barrel whiskey. Its like drinking a flavorful campfire.

That's definitely going on my list. Since you tried all of them, could you give a quick rundown on the others?

Absolutely... Now I want to point out that I didn't get a chance to try their rare blends, as several are seasonal and I was quite disappointed that I missed out on a few of those that were around back in October. And they didn't have pumpkin moonshine or red absinthe when I was there (gives me a reason to go back). But I did try the regular spirits of vodka, gins, and whiskeys and the Ryemeggedon..

I've personally never been a vodka or gin guy, though on occasion I do enjoy changing things up. Their gin is hands down the best gin I have ever tasted, and that goes for every one they distill. The artisan gin is hands down the best gin I have ever experienced, crisp and clean with wonderful flavors. The citrus peel isn't over powering in this... I tend to find gin to be too dry for my tastes, but this was pretty amazing. Now I only tried the gin straight and didn't get a cocktail made with the gin, though my girlfriend and her friend that came with us did get a gin and tonic made with their artisan gin and they both exclaimed it was the best gin and tonic they've ever had. They had another gin there that I am not seeing on their website, it was actually slightly brown in color. It also was very flavorful and not dry. I really wish I could remember the name of the gin, I did prefer the artisan gin to this special distilled gin, but both were quite excellent. I may have to talk the gf in to returning there this weekend so we can hop next door and try their craft beers also, if we do I'll come back and let you know the name.

I've already mentioned the triple smoked whiskey, and really the description I gave of "It's like drinking a flavorful campfire." is pretty damn accurate. Several earthy flavors combined in this, and the smokeiness really sets it off. It can kinda screw with your tastebuds at first taste because of the peat in it, at first it was like drinking a scotch but with the slight kick of a whiskey. It took a while to really appreciate all the flavors and to accept it as a whiskey (also note that with earthy scotchs there isn't slight hints of fruits like you often get. So you're left with just the smoked wood flavors, peat, and a very slight sweetness of whiskey). The Quinoa Whiskey was my least favorite but I really appreciated it... If you've ever had quinoa then you'll understand when I say there is nutty flavor to the whiskey, which was complex and just strange. I maybe have to try it again, but I definitely would not want to purchase a bottle of this. The Ryemegeddon Whiskey was fantastic also, and I almost preferred it over the triple smoked. Honestly, I think the only reason I preferred the triple smoked over the ryemegeddon is because it reminded me of a good single malt. If you're a fan of complex flavored porters you'll really like the Ryemegeddon. You get the smooth rye white whiskey flavors with a after hint of the chocolate rye. The way the flavors hit really reminded me of a great porter.

Their artisan gin is ranked in the top 10 whiskeys in America (#3) and it is very well deserved. Their distillery is actually based about an hour up the road near Bowling Green, KY, but they proudly claim Nashville as their home base. Their prices are great too. It was only $46 for a bottle of the triple smoked, and I think that was the going price for the majority of their regularly made spirits.

    Hope this helps!

I got this little gem as a present for my 30th birthday. Something tells me I best leave this corked up for a special occasion

    Glenmorangie 10 y.o. tonight.
I spent the better part of the day wrestling with a sink. Enjoying some downtime with this fine dram.
