Thanked: 36I've heard good things about bunnahabhain from several people now. I'm considering it for next month's purchase as the 12 yo is quite a reasonable price here all things considered. There's a posh sounding independent bottling available here at the moment too, but at just over six hundred quid its a bit out of my price range.

i'm enjoying a fabulous four roses single barrel at the moment, and it's one of the smoothest sweetest whiskeys that had the pleasure of touching my tongue..

Thanked: 0Ezekiel81 - I like the Glenfiddich 21 very much. I don't think it's as smooth as Aberlour, but I do think it's smoother than the Macallan (at least the first glass of it ).

Thanked: 36I think I've only tried the 12 year old glenfiddich that I can remember, other than a sample of a peated version they were giving out at an airport one time. It's been quite a long time since, but I remember it being kind of buttery. I remember thinking it was a bit bland last time I owned a bottle, but I also had a cask strength laphroaig on the go, which I drank neat, so pretty much anything tasted bland by comparison.

Thanked: 36Forgot to mention I'm sipping Linie Aquavit at the moment. I was very pleasantly surprised by this spirit, I was expecting it to be horrible.
