Today I am having a (couple of) dram(s) of Johnny Walker Gold Label.
I was initially disappointed since its taste is significantly less strong than the Black Label with which I am familiar. I have however come to realize that it is more refined in its mildness and actually complex in its taste, which is something you can not really say about the Black Label.

I was a little taken back myself at first but with a few more samplings I realized it had real balance and then the complexity and some layering came through. Green Label has become favorite being most complex followed close behind with Blue Label.

Interesting! How would you rate the different labels based upon their value for money?

With each being so different that's a tuff question. Each was progressively better than the lesser but for different reasons. Bang for your buck in complexity would be Green on the lower end and Blue at the higher end was refined and smooth sippin'. I haven't gotten another Platinum or Gold but have gotten several Blue & Greens since.

I love the green as well but tonight I am having Johnny Walker Swing. Found it on a cruise around the Caribbean. The bottle actually wobbles to mimic the waves of the sea. Yeah I know gimmicky but I like it even better than the blue and its cheaper (a lot cheaper). Actually pulled out the bottle before I saw people were on a Johnny theme tonight.
It's got some smokiness to it and a little bit of peat. Almost out of it so I think I'll have to go on a cruise again as it's the only place I've ever seen it.

A bit more A'Bunadh for me. Trying to get a review up on my blog, but I keep having internet issues at home. I'm posting this from work and can't work on whisky reviews. It's ever so slightly frustrating.

A'Bundh or Glenfarclas 15, or maybe Glenfarclas 105, are on my short list for next whisky purchase. Any thoughts?
