Just use the hand soap with my little boar travel brush (Omega 10077) ... one pass ... warm / cold rinse: good shave in 3min !!

Make lather, apply quick layer, rinse. Apply fresh layer, one pass wtg, apply razor relief, good to go.

I'm going to need a bigger bathroom

As with some others above, I'm not a morning person and very rarely shave in the morning during the working week - I much prefer a late evening relaxing routine, rather than deal with the inevitable morning rush.

GTI- This might sound odd- I buy the exchange select single blade disposables (I'm assuming you can get these at the PX, I used to buy them at the BX) and I keep a pack in my medicine cabinet and another pack in my glove compartment, only $1.10 for 10. If I've slept in, these work essentially as a DE, and the supervisor will be none the wiser after 5 minutes in the bathroom

Shave when you have the time. Pretty much what I do, but I work shift work. So sometimes the evening's and sometimes at night. But if I find I'm short for time I use my DE.

I didn't come up with my avatar name without good reason. A nice relaxing shave before bed with the straight razor leads to a good night's rest ahhhhh. and yes, get a louder alarm.

I was thinking about this earlier today actually, when I woke up too late to use my still new straight. I am starting to get into the habit of shaving at night so don't have to rush when I get up at 4:45.

I just did a night shave about two hours ago or early morning depending on how you want to look at it. It's very unhurried and relaxing and affords one the time to enjoy all aspects of the process. ya play a little music for your shave and enjoy and you go to bed feeling great. Just my opinion of course.

A lot of respondents have suggested a louder alarm. I'm surprised no one has suggested _getting more sleep_! Most of us, especially FT workers in the US, are chronically sleep deprived.

That said, the DE cold-water shave is my solution when running late. Cold water brush soak while washing face and brushing teeth; one attentive cold-water pass; cold-water rinse and a face-moisturizer "aftershave."

Pro tip if things go badly: wrap a handkerchief around your neck while putting on the dress shirt and tie, to keep any weepers from spotting your collar. Take care of the now-dry weepers in the rest room on arrival at work.
