I'm very fortunate. I haven't woken up late/overslept...since starting SR shaving.
I used to travel with a spare cartridge razor...just in case, but for the last month, I've had full faith in my abilities to shave AND wake up on time.
However to answer the question, IF I did oversleep, I would give it a quick once WTG pass with a weak lather.
Stropping would be made up later....
Truth be told, I would cut it close (forgive the pun) time wise when I was using the cartridge, but now that I'm all about the straight razor shave, it's something I look forward to; something I take pride in. Knowing I've got a 'skills-test' waiting for me, I get right up.Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

If I don't have the time for a damn fine shave, then I don't bother. I like shaving just as much as I do the results, and I never rush one.

If I am running late, I use a DE. If I am showering I use soap in the shower and basically do a one pass shave. If no shower, shave cream and one pass. If the day is that important that you need to be BBS, make sure to get your butt up in time.

1 pass with a straight and Proraso Shaving Foam (the only foam that doesn't irritate my face) after hot water on the face, no stropping (or maybe a quick 5 stroke on my palm), and with a bit more time a second stroke with water, rinse with warm and cold water, that's it!
Kindest regards

Thanked: 5I'm an evening shaver. If I have time in the morning, I gave my face a single pass with the DE.

Thanked: 4I shave about 3 years ago with straight razors. But this takes a long time for preparation. In this time I use again safety razors. After a quick shower, lather my face, and shave in 3 passes with my Muhle R41. The result is perfect...

I'd use my Edwin Jagger DE, I can rush and not get hurt.
Soap or cream doesn't matter, they all take the same amount of time.

I guess by now the OP knows he just needs to get up on time! In my job a shave is mandatory , we must be able to wear SCBA,s if the alarm goes off. So either get up or shave at night. Hope you find time to enjoy your shaves soon. Tc
