Thanked: 1160So here's how I see it, 1) sure yes, get more sleep. Maybe go to bed earlier(you could still do a night shave ,my suggestion anyway) 2) be more mindful of getting up on time. 3) Take a shaving kit to work with you, I do. I just pop into the bathroom with my DE and have a proper UNHURRIED shave. Takes about twenty minutes. DONE ! Now ,if none of these ideas can be achieved then maybe we have a problem. I mean if you can't get up on time ever and are cramming like mad to get a decent shave then maybe it's time to examine one's responsibility habits (just sayin) ...not trying to be antagonistic or condescending here. This is only shaving not rocket science after all. Just want everyone to have a nice relaxing shave is all and wet shaving is supposed to be just that, otherwise it's cannned foam and cartridge time and that's not why we are all here right fellas ???

I had to tackle the "hurry up" yesterday. I had 30 min from waking up to needing to be driving away. I cut my morning routine down to essentials. Fed the cats, skipped coffee, headed to the shower. Reduced my shave routine. No hot towel in my prep, single pass shave, strop the razor later. Cleared the house in less than 25 min.
The easy road is rarely rewarding.

Thanked: 485If I'm in a REAL hurry I use my DE, but you already use a DE. I can shave with a straight, from beginning to end (i.e. including making the lather and clean up) in less than 10 minutes (a single pass which is standard for me).
I've just started a new job which means I need to wake up more than 1/2 an hour earlier (and be quicker at stuff) than previous.
When I was in the army I set three alarms, two electrical and one mechanical (in case the power went out).
These days I use my phone as an alarm, and while I could easily situate it next to my bed so I can simply reach out to turn it off I consciously situate it on my desk so i actually HAVE to get out of bed to turn it off. It's harder to go back to sleep if you have to stumble across the room to the alarm...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I remember the days of using two alarms, one wind up in case the power went out...there is NO excuse (other than death) for being late for a mission. Today I rarely use an alarm (only if I need to get up early). I wake up within 5 minutes of 0500 everyday.
If hitting the snooze is too much temptation. There is always the Clocky solution!

Straight shave if plenty time, electric shaver when in a hurry. Don't like DE's nor cartridge thingies.

If I'm not going to the fire department I don't bother. I wait til I have time. Usually shave before bed. But if I have to in a pinch for FD related needs I use n electric in truck. Lol
