In this situation I'll normally either just do a quick one pass straight shave or pick up one of my DE razors. The Merkur Slant is an excellent choice.

Wake at 5 (no alarm).SSS (shit shave shine) in that order. Run sink of hot water with a small splash of Savlon antiseptic while I strop razor. Wet the brush and make lather and apply. One pass wtg. Towel in water then onto face. Jump in the shower.
The Savlon has multi function, antiseptic, stops hair creating a tide line and makes cleaning the sink a breeze.
