Gorgeous razors, y'all. Very nice.
I am not an Official Member of this club yet, but I have ordered an Aust from the manufacturer, paid for it, got my shipping notification, and now I am waiting.
And time is moving so so slowly now........
(And googling the average postal service ship time from Germany to the US has not helped at all. Anywhere from 6 days to 3 months).

Thanks, y'all!! I am very excited about this. I have wanted a Ralf Aust since I started straight shaving (which hasn't been long), but my wife bought me one as a belated Christmas present. We went to the Ralf Aust website, and we went through and picked out the one I wanted and chose the specifications that I likes (complete with spine etching). Herr Aust and I emailed back a forth a few times, and I can tell you that his customer service is excellent, and he is very helpful. (I think we were both using Google Translate. LOL). But my new Ralf Aust is on its way now, and I am waiting as patiently as I can, which is not very patiently at all.
I will post pics just as soon as I unbox it. (And I will fight the urge to immediately shave with so I can get some pics up).

Okay guys count me in. At the moment I have a single 5/8 Aust and it's a wonderful shaver. I'm not crazy about the stock scales but am waiting to see some custom scales that I like that I can copy somewhat. Barring that, I'll just come up with something once the temperatures here get a little above freezing again. Until then, I'll get a picture of my Ralphie posted this week. Did I mention what a smooth shaver this thing is?

I'll chime in as well. I'm new to the world of SR, and realize that I have a rather challenging learning curve ahead of me. I literally made the decision to plunge in this past weekend. I hate my current shaving experience, and am looking forward to learning this old art form. I'm an Aust member-in-waiting. I just ordered one from SRD this morning, and living in Asia, I believe the delivery waiting time will be a better part of a week. The one I ordered was a "cheap" model given that I got it for a fraction under $100. I wish I could share some pictures, but I have not received the parcel yet. I'm anxiously awaiting. I have a ⅝, with black plastic scales. No frills, but it still looks like a beautiful razor. You can find a picture of it on the SRD website. One question...if I'm interested at some point in upgrading scales, how does one go about that?
Obviously a junior member question...glad to be part of this community, and I'm looking forward to learning from all the experienced members.

I just received this 6/8 round point from SRD two days ago. I'm very much a newbie, this being my first straight razor. I'm going by the numbers as put forth on this forum. My first "shave" was from side burn to jawline. The stropping was slow. My only regret is that I have a light beard and only have to shave every other day. It will take time and practice to get proficient at this new skill. Many thanks to this forum and the members for the invaluable advise and tips.
