    What to do?

It's an 8/8" Celebrated Hollow Ground FBU. The spine is 1/3" wide (well .30 now with hone wear but close enough). From heel to toe at the longest point 3 1/8". The scales are 7/8" at their widest. The pivot is wobbly and the scales are chipped along the edges. The patina is, for the most part, nice and even.

What would you do? Tighten the pin and hone or a full restore? Something in between?

Better look at the worst of the scales:

Clean it, tighten the pin (scales look straight enough) and hone that sucker!

Please, for the love of God, do NOT restore that. It is too good to mess with. Tighten the pins and hone it up. That razor will always be better the way it is than if it is restored.

If there was active rust or the scales were broken my answer would change. That is so nice and original the way it is.

Depends on what you want to do with your blade.

If you want to stay original, give the scales a good soak in neatsfoot, get the pins tightened, and an overall clean-up followed by a good honing and you're good to go.

I just got one like that and had it restored with custom scales, the before and after pics are somewhere in the forum.

That's the fun in this, you can do whatever you want, stay original, get multi-colored glow in the dark scales, traditional dark horn scales, whatever, you have to shave with it, so have fun and make it your own.

That was my gut feeling from the beginning and what I've done. It was very easy to tighten up, about three dozen light taps on either side with my tiny chasing hammer and it was very snug.

Honing went ok, I can never pass an HHT but it shaves nice enough for me.

now she is honed up just enjoy & admire,
the patina is very even & beautiful which i am sure is alot shinnier in person ( the patina on my 1" W&B looked like that in photos but is very shinny realy )
gotta agree soak in neetsfoot oil for a week this will bring the scales back to life a lot, then ligthly sand the scale edges only to remove any sharp high spots on the bug bites to avoid posible catching or damage later,
I believe the value will remain higher keeping as original as possible also.
this is mine as bought v's in the sun

Don't know when I'll get around to cleaning this one up. Too much stuff going on. But I was straightening up the house a bit today and found this old ad (I plan on getting a frame for it). I figured I'd use that as an opportunity to get a good picture of the razor and the advertisement.

From a 1910 "Never Dull" warranted cutlery catalog:

    And the razor:
