Thanked: 74Here is my entry into the club. Picked it up at the local antique mall for $40 Canadian. Thought I had done a pretty good job of cleaning it up, but it seems I still have some work to do around the pivot.
The box is kinda cool. Red plastic. You can just make out the writing on the box as well.

Here's an interesting one. Looks very similar to my Twinworks #50 but it's not. It's a Henckels Twinworks 'Torpedo'. Superb shaver.

Nice Max. That's the forst Torpedo I've seen or heard of.

Got my 401 Platinum in the mail today in great mechanical condition. Not the prettiest razor on these pages; the steel is a little scuffed in a few places, but after a cleaning it honed up nicely and is an exceptional shaver. Definitely going to try and restore this one.

This one just arrived today (Thanks C utz!). Friodur #50½. Nothing overly special; but it's my first real (what I would call) top-shelf shaver, and I love the shoulderless grinds.

My clan entry. It's in pretty good shape but has not had a thorough polish and cleaning. Basically cleaned it up, honed and started shaving.

Thanked: 0I humbly submit my ebay-rescued #50 to the fold:
Sorry for the blurry pic & my mugshot, but all I have is my laptop's webcam at the moment.
My intention has been to clean this one up and put it in some hand-carved ebony scales. However, in looking around the net at other 50s, it appears that these are the original pins and (unmarked) scales (please correct me if I'm wrong)
I promise to get a better camera and post some before & after shots of the water stains in the blade. It was honed for me by importcarguy (who did a WONDERFUL job); since I'm new to this it was better I try this thing out to see if I liked it enough to try my hand at restoration on it. The result is that I can't bring myself to even look at another blade until I have another one of these for my rotation.
