Picked this up today. The scales are near flawless. The blade as can be seen has some staining. Nice hefty grind though and the etch in the blade is deep and would remain intact after a light regrind.

Very nice find Chris. I love the scales. Pipe razors are one of my favorates. By regrind do you mean with sand paper or a grinding wheel on a piece of equipment. I'm interested in finding a source for regrinding that uses grinding wheels on a piece of equipment.

"Regrinding" this one will be a project for a later date for me. I have built ONE OF THESE
It's fully operational but it needs some tweaking and I need a TON of practice. I'll post pics in the near future.
By regrind, I mean either hand sand and maybe a tumble or when I'm proficient on the grinder (I've got a long way to go on that) then at that point I'd certainly prefer putting it on the grinder.

Oh.....and if anyone wants to build one of these, talk to me or Randy Tuttle (aka Randydance062449) first. I think he's built two of them now. The plans are well put together, but they don't stress some critical areas of construction that must be followed in order to have the belts track properly.Last edited by ChrisL; 10-04-2008 at 05:16 PM.

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera, but I have a Pipe like the one in ChrisL's post...except his scales are way nicer than mine.

Wostenholm (1815-1823)
May I join the club?
I know it's not sporting a pipe logo or an I*XL, but it's still a Wostenholm.
This little darling was recently restored by Gary (Traveller). It was made after the name changed from Wolstenholme to Wostenholm (c. 1815) and before the addition of the & Son (1823).
I've searched, but I can't find another plain ol' Wostenholm [without the & Son]. Oh, well. Who needs that pesky & Son anyway! =(
