Just received this in the mail today....a Satinedge I got off ebay...in good condition, need to be re-honed. The scale is yellowish.....I'm not sure whether to do anything about it or just let it be...

Pesa. These scales can be quite difficult so I would suggest you just clean them without removing any pins. Maybe a cotton bud or even dental wax can get into the awkward areas. The blade doesn't seem to need much more than a polish. A nice find.

I believe the scales are supposed to be that color.

I bought my mint Goldenedge for $40 from a woman whose father and brother were barbers and collected straights.

Well after a little hiatus away I've rejoined the fold with this lovely 7/8th Round tip Dubl Duck. Given her a little polish and refresh with my pasted strops and will see how she shaves. Don't think she'll need a honing.

Here's another pic of the blade. Had a shave with it and she's a real beaut.

I picked this ugly duck up super cheap rather than wait for a pristine example like the goldenedge above. It has a lopsided smile from what I suspect is an attempt to hone out a chip or just some really long term lop sided honing. It sure is ugly but she is mine until I can find something reasonable and pretty out there. Name: IMAG0218.jpg
