I found this Shumate Barbers De Luxe in the wild today. It is stamped Shumate Barbers De Luxe on the Show Side scale as well as the tang. It should clean up nice although the scales are a real flimsy celluloid. I'm thinking about making new ones. I'll be updating the progress soon.

    Default Austin Tex Shumate

I bought this Austin Shumate today on the auction site. I can’t read Austin, but I do see TEX. There was no indication of which metal the scales are.

I've been hunting this one for awhile. I think of it as a cowboy razor.

The scales look to be aluminum I believe. Great find! Hope you got it for a good price.

I found my aluminum scaled Austin Shumate & it looks a lot better than I thought. I did have a gorgeous one that looked a lot better than this one but I lost it when the mail carrier delivered it to the wrong address & whoever got it was dishonest & kept it.

I paid $33 shipped. Seemed fair. I’ve got a lot of cleanup to do on it.

Seeing @engine46 ‘s I know what the goal is. Mostly, I’m glad to see it was a production razor.

The etching on that blade looks like one I was supposed to get one time but the carrier delivered it to the wrong address and they never returned it to the carrier.

Currently using this Austin Tex. Version razor he may be tungsten steel, I spent a long time optimizing the edge, some places may be nickel plated.

I trust you can get back that razor.
