Thanked: 12Well, I got my 6/8 Dovo Best and my 5/8 Fritz Bracht. I couldn't be happier with both. LOVE the weight and feel of the Best. It didn't take long to get it shave ready, and it gave a very smooth and satisfying shave. The Fritz Bracht is just gorgeous and the shave is fantastic!!!

You just cant go wrong with a Dovo... If you are just starting out or have used a straight for years they are excellent. I have around 30 differant
brands of razors and the Dovo is the old reliable.

Here's my main shaver. I have a few other razors that aren't shave-ready, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I do enjoy it.

After finishing with my W&B last week, I thought to myself, that is a tough one to follow. Then I grabbed the next one in my rotation, a Dovo Perlex. No, it wasn't that difficult after all.

I picked up another Dovo from a buddy of mine for a superb deal. It's a basic razor, but man did it shave beautifully! Kinda makes me think I screwed up the edge on my main Dovo stropping it incorrectly, that's how great of a shave this new one gave me.
I'll post pics when I get home.

Here's my newest addition! I think I'm gonna go for a 7-day set of Dovo's. All different kinds. We'll see how that works out. In any case, this one really is an awesome shaver, and it's their most basic blade.

My first razor was a Dovo Best Quality. Two weeks later I bought a Dovo Speacial. For someone just getting into the straight shaving game, these two shave very well. At least for me!
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

I picked up a Dovo BlackStar a couple of weeks ago, from SRD. It is my favorite. I don't know if it is the newness of it, or how nice it looks. Even with my beginner skills, and the not so great shaves I get from any straight (I still touch up with a DE), The Dovo gives me the best results of the three I have. Very nice piece of German steel, and nice to look at, too.

I have one Dovo in my rotation too. Got it from the Ebay in the NOS condition.
It is a 6/8 vintage Fritz Bracht #25 with gold plated shank and aux mother of pearl scales.
It shaves as it looks- splendid. Do not ask me sell it!

Thanked: 2I began shaving with a Dovo Bismarck straight about 5 years ago. It was the only razor I had until a few months ago when I got a 6/8 Wacker Red Head. The Bismarck has definitely treated me well these years but I'm likely to pass it along soon. Although it is a great razor I've begun a new love affair with Wacker razors.
