DOVO Best Quality
The first razor I bought and learned how to shave was a DOVO Best Quality, it is still in my rotation; matter of fact I shaved with it today, here is a pic of the SOTD posting.

Thanked: 443My Lynn-honed Dovo 41 (stainless/ebony scales) is the only one I've bought brand-new. It's my baseline razor--tells me how sharp a straight should be. I like the extra washers between the blade and scales. It shaves great, looks nice... very functional.
The only reason I don't rave about it is that I'm more excited about the ones I had to hone myself. I'll buy another Dovo (a half-hollow Best Quality) when the RAD gets the best of me."These aren't the droids you're looking for." "These aren't the droids we're looking for." "He can go about his business." "You can go about your business."

I have 3 Dovos and a Boker all in rotation. Like em all, no complaints on any of them.

Thanked: 190I have a Dovo. NOS No. 55 and it is an awesome daily shaver. I also have a Dovo Best Class and it is also another great daily shaver.
I started with a Dovo Special and it was a great shaver as well. So thumbs up on Dovo!
Any blade can shave, but the good ones hold their edge, give a BBS shave day after day, and can easily take an edge when its time to sharpen them up again.

Dovo Lover
I just bought a Dovo Prima Klang, I'm a newbie and everyone said ohhhh, stay away from that blade, it's too much for you. Well I had about 6 shaves on an old blade I got from the Whipped Dog (which worked ok) but I have to tell you this DPK is awesome. I got it brand new in an unopened factory box, lapped it on my balsa lap strop (also from Whipped Dog) and put it to the leather and it is smooth. Now I am sure with a professional hone it will improve far beyond my medial skills, but I am very impressed and plan on buying a couple more and putting them in the rotation. Anyone else out there have a PK? Let me now how it's working for you.
Shave On,
Chip

My first straight was a Dovo from Steve at The Invisible Edge. I'm not sure which model it is...probably a best quality? or whatever the entry level razor is. It came in a shaving kit. It came with a nice brush, stainless bowl, alum, styptic, and a 1.5 inch strop. I replaced the strop because it was barely usable.
I ended up with some blunting and other beginner issues on that blade. I think I'll have to hone it and give it another try since I now know what I'm doing.

Thanked: 12My first Dovo was a 5/8 round point Col. Conk, unused. I like this one because it has a nice weight to it, no pull or drag. I'm pretty sure these were made by Dovo. My next one was a 4/8 round point with faux turtle scales. I have a new 6/8 Dovo Best with blonde scales on the way. I also have a 6/8 Fritz Bracht on the way. Love those Dovo's!!!!
