Hi Stefan,

エース is ACE, maybe the brand name.
舶耒 should be 舶来、hakurai, meaning imported.　鋼 is the well know "hagane" kanji
So basically it says "imported steel"

Today i got the Maruta Razro, wow what a Beauty and incredible sharp, but what do the Kanji under the Maruta Circle mean?

The one without the paper label is Ozuko ,not sure about the other one.

I just picked this up and I don't have a clue. The 5th and 7th character or kanji seem to be the same. Other than that..... Please if someone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I have something interesting for you. Actually only the first front/back part.
It is something mr Yamamoto wrote.
And sound so very japanese!

"In Tosa (prefecture), Kochi (city), Harimabashi I go straight in my job. I'll do my best or I will be patient"

Hi Steel,
what we have is is "Hitachi Yakinamashi steel"
"Annealing/tempered steel from Hitachi"

Is the first time I read the word annealing.
According to Taro shoud be a tempering tecnique which doesn't involve water to cool the steel. So basically after the steel becomes hot, it cools by itself, meaning no water, only air and time.
If anyone knows what I am talking about and has better informations, please let us know.

Oh, That is great, Arsenico! I was worried I had given you too much at once!

Interesting what you found that Yamamoto put upon his strops.
Certainly he was a very conscientious individual by the workmanship in the strop covers and the way the strops were maintained. Old, well-used with no damage whatsoever. Rubbing the hand down them is amazing.
