    Thank you :-)

The Tamahagane Kanji are visible at the spine of the Ura, they look similar to those that are used on Nagamasa Kamisoris.
There is a third Kanji togehter with the Tamahagane Kanji i dont know what it means, it looks like this:

Found a Zubora at Ebay where it is better visible on one of the Pics:

    Hi,
these are the kanji:彩雲, the reading is SAIUN and the meaning is something like "glowing cloud/s".
I have not found any info on this razor though.
    Hope this helps.

I just received a great gift. A western Style Iwasaki Kamisori. I would love to hear from Kamisori aficionados to recreate the story of this razor. This is what I know about it:

According to the original seller in Japan it is a Iwasaki kamisori branded razor that has been manufactured by Saburo Shizu. According to the story it was the beginning of Iwasaki path as a razor maker and Saburo was his (mentor) and this particular razor is from their tandem era.

That's all I know. I hope that someone here can read Japanese or can recognize trademarks and might help me to complete the story.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Thank you
    Kochevnik

    Hi Kochevnik,
there's something I can't read, but it seems the the seller is right.
After the marusan logo, the circle (maru in Japanese) with three lines (kanji for 'three') inside, there is the name 志津三郎 Shizu Saburou. The kanji on the right stands for "special" and "guarantee" . Can't read what's on top of the marusan logo, sorry, but they should be the "trade mark" group of kanji.

Hi, according to the seller’s description this is a マルタ. The reading is Maruta. The logo is the circle、 as for marusan in Iwasaki's kamisori. Basically Maru、丸 means circle. Inside the circle there should be a タ or a 田 or any other kanji whose reading is TA. Sometimes Japanese use graphic solutions to write marks, like marusan or hoshitennin. Hoshi, meaning star, sometimes is replaced by a star
    The kanji after Tamahagane means
many things but in this case should be simply "made" or "forged". I have seen this kanji on may razors.

Greetings, Arsenico. I described a strop cover a while back which came from a barber in Japan, K. Yamamoto.
I am fortunate to have acquired 2 of his strops and they are well-used, yet are in amazing condition.
They strop like nothing I have used.
This cover is old and faded silk. I attempted to take pictures, which was a challenge.
Hopefully you can translate what is on it. I assume Yamamoto's name and perhaps other information.

As I said, it is quite faded, so I included repeat pictures in hopes that you may see it more clearly.
    My Thanks,
    Tom
