I have nothing but praise for Jimbo, obviously being a respected person due to his title.
As to William and Edmund; Happy Turkey Day!

If one of the posters in this thread was showing off one of those custom razors that looked like some kind of Klingon battle weapon, I'd probably keep my mouth shut. But some of the problems Glen mentioned in the original post might be actual safety issues for a poster that was asking "straight or shavette?" two dozen posts ago. For him I'd look for a tactful way to warn him without insulting his new razor.

"Do you or don't you point out that the huge uneven bevel really should not be there on a Brand New Custom razor" Yes. This one I would. The others no. But do it with a PM. They should get their money back and return before it's too late, and everyone sometimes can be blinded by the newness of something to obscure faults that are noticed with regret too late. To not say something would be dishonest.

I wouldn't, unless it's a bevel issue or a warped spine, those are things the maker should fix and in all honesty, shouldn't be there in the first place. But, I'd do it in a PM.

So a custom razor does not necessarily have to be made as a usable tool?
I had never thought of this.....I always thought a razor is an item which could be used. Were I to own a razor and treat it as a piece of art, it would still need to be usable. JMHO"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."

If you can't use it it's not a razor, it's a paperweight or letter opener, and if your going to make razors don't shorts your talent by making it unusable. It's that simple, (goes to show you how I would respond feelings or not). Let me put it this way, I found Glen in the beginning, I asked questions and I got honesty, saved me from buying crap and got some nice razors without the hassle and pain of bad purchases, he never pulled his punches and always was straight. I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. But then I,m thick skinned and not afraid of the truth, or maybe hurting a feeling or two. By the way Birnardo was also kind enough to give me honest opinions on custom makers to which kept me from going to those makers , another guy who was honest. So tell me this , is it really so good to tactfully refrain from speaking? Or would you be doing them a service to protect them? And if their egos won't handle it, oh well they move on and you didn't lose anything. Respectfully. Tc

Agreed. So I suppose I mean to say, I have had many, many, requests for razors that will literally, be put on a wall. And never used. They have shadow boxes made for them. In this respect, that's what I was referring to.
Otherwise, yes, craft blades that are usable, unless requested that they are for the wall, like I've had.I have a corgi, life is complete.

Well, I don't make razors, but if I did, I would get it right and make only razors of the best ergonomics and usefulness.
An artist who makes razors is totally different from a razor-maker who makes art, IMO.
I do know about what some seem to like in razors by looking at newer guys acquisitions.
In my trade, my name is on my work. I turn down a lot of things people want me to perform as I don't want my name on it.
