Your post prompted me to pull out my first straight and shave with it today. It's still a nice shaver.

Thanked: 154My first straight razor (not counting an L&A replaceable-injector-blade razor) was a Case Temperite. I bought it off the SRP Classifieds in a well-used, non-shave-ready restoration-project condition from holli4pirating. It was a fun project and really nice shaver. I later gave it to my best friend as his first straight razor when he expressed an interest in the "proper" way for a gentleman to shave.

My first straight was a Nessel that I bought from gugi. It's an 11/16 round point and I've still got it.

I also went with Dovo - the Bergischer Lowe which is 5/8". I don't user it regularly as I have quite a few other razors but it still gives a great shave and is remarkably easy to use compared to larger blades.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Not a good picture but in the fall of 1978 I bought this double duck at Harold Brothers in Cleveland, Ohio.

Thanked: 60What was your first straight razor? (if you can remember....lol)
Burrell Top Flight my Dad gave me in the 70's used it for years. Still have it but have retired it. Partly sentimental and partly through 25 years of wear and tear due to travel and honing mainly with Barber hones back then.
