-For starters, the workmanship is exquisite and she looks even better than on the pictures.
-Joe got it as sharp as I've ever gotten a blade and surprisingly customs people didn't mess up the edge. It was encouraging seeing the customs form label it as an "electric razor." This means they just checked the package for contraband and passed it on.
-The unusual size of the blade took some time to get used to. One distinct disadvantage it suffers over smaller blades of equal sharpness is that the downstroke in the moustache area is under a more extreme angle which makes it pull a bit. The advantage is that it mowed down a forrest of stubble with no effort.
-Overall, it's a superb shaver. Right up there with the Taylor's Eye Witness 6/8 and the Genco 9/16. The added charm of it being custom-made for me and by my specification will make it a permanent part of my and my grandkid's (assuming I have children and they children lol) rotation.

Glad it worked out well for you. Never forget the motto of the Canada Post..."It'll eventually get somewhere"

Wow, that is an awesome blade! Now I want a custom- all the other kids have one, why not me?

Did you actually design any part of it, or just give general ideas?

I gave general ideas. It all started with a Sunday night chat.. I told Joe what I wanted and asked him for a price...
    1) 9/8, stiff grind (as close to a full wedge as possible)
    2) French point, monkey tail
    3) Maple burl scales
    4) A linear filework pattern (he sent me a few samples later on in the process) on the spine and jimps on the tang
Once I got a price and made sure that I read it right, there was no way I wasn't gonna say GO GO GO GO GO
Once Joe got into the design process I had some input but it's mostly his creative genius forming a work of art within my specs.

Joe, in this case almost half of the delay was due to the customs people. Even though I was fairly certain they didn't mess with the blade, I still wiped it down with alcohol just to make sure lol.

That's great, Ilija! I esp. like the way you said in mows down the stubble....I contacted Joe and hope to have him make one for me...I want to see how it tackles the "speaker wire" growing on my neck and jaw! The pics were amazing...if it loks even better - WOW!

Annoying about the Customs delay....but I guess Customs folks are the same world-wide.

Congrats on the great new blade!
