    andy,

In my experience, they are fine razors indeed. Great, I dunno, but they are really, really good. Right now the 7/8 Friodurs and I are doing the shaving dance, but I know that I'll return to the Le Grelots. When I first tried a Le Grelot 1/4 hollow, it was probably the best shave I had had to that point. If you get one, I think you will never regret it.

With their well earned reputation, in the unlikely circumstance that you don't like the razor, you will have no trouble selling it and getting your money back.

Ever check to see how many are for sale in the classifieds? Right, not a bunch. That's gotta say something. Oh, by the way, you'll never see any of mine for sale.

    good luck, good shaving

I broke down and ordered one for curiosity sakes - I figure best to check it out first hand

well, it arrived from Martin over at Rasupur in remarkably quick time (1 week).

Right now I am just debating if it goes up on the classifieds (no discounts - at cost since it would be unused) -or- take it for a spin this weekend on my saturday morning shave.

    ohhh what to do.

I am not trying to insult anyone, I am just curious if it truly that much better a 1/4-wedge than say a wacker 1/4-wedge or...old school butcher wedge?

There a couple of factors about the 1/4 Le Grelot that make it a good shaver. The hardness of the steel is very good, high quality steel that holds an edge very well. The second point to be made is that it is a fairly hefty razor and the stiffness of the blade gives a very clean cut with heavy beards. I have trouble with full hollows for instance digging in and trying to grab a little skin. I liked Le Grelots so well I bought another as a backup. I really do not have much of a rotation. My rotation it is mostly these two Le Grelots. It really depends what you are into. During the week I do not tend to experiment because of time constraints. I have about a half dozen other razors but for now these are my work horses. I am in the pool for a custom and these razors have had a very large influence on what I am going to have made.

    Take Care,
    Richard

You may as well take it for a spin as the classifieds won't be available to you as a selling resource until you are an established member here

Besides you may as well enjoy the Le Grelot!

doh - just read the classified rules - even though it is not in my favor - at least it attempts to safeguard the integrity of who is selling what - which is good thing.

I guess me and the LG have a evening shave to schedule

Anyone else pick one up and have any thoughts on these?

Well, to be honest, I have the problem with my other razors: when will I use any of them (only 2 more, so no big collection) again?????

All I have read was true: no noise at all (except when going ATG, but the other are way more louder), veeeery smooth shave. I noticed going from 5/8 from my other razors to 6/8, and also the stiffness of the blade, which makes me think that, although I am a newbie as I have only been shaving with a straight since June, these tipe of wedges may be easier to handle than a full hollow....Also was the best ATG I have experienced, no tugging at all, and even made the upper lip easier, althpugh that still remains as my more difficult area to tackle...

So a great shave, 100% bbs and looking forward to use it again...and again...and again...

    Regards
    Carlos

My personal razor is a Le Grelot that I took from my stock. And I enjoy every shave with it... I have a very coarse beard. I admit that I am tempted by the other razors I stock on a regular basis (who wouldn't be tempted!) but am so happy with what I already have on my shaving tray that I have managed to not give in to temptation, yet.
