The wife was complaining this evening . Dinners ready, if we had a place to eat. The entire kitchen table was covered with brushes. Got another 20 in the works. My hands hurt for holding the lathe tools for hours at a time.
Dont have a Boker, never even used one. looks like a nice blade. The plain white scales are just shouting for some Amboyna burl but that big Chandler 8/8 is tugging at my heart. Suprised it has hung around this long.

I missed this thread the first day. I have one on back order because I was too slow. Now I just have to wait impatiently. >

Thanked: 0Hello,
I got one of those new Boker Edelweiss. Seems to be working good for me for what I can tell but I am a newbie starting with str8 shaving and I have no point of comparison. Does anybody else has feedback about that razor ? Thanks

Thanked: 2Hey Guys,
My Edelweiss just came in the mail today I will have a shave with it tomorrow and I will let you guys know how it works. I also went with the a 3" leather strop with felt instead of linen. It looks pretty sweet!

Thanked: 2Well the edge that the Edelweiss was pretty disappointing. I am gonna have to hone it myself. I am surprised as Lynn has done one of my other razors and he did a great job on the $75 dovo I have.

Thanked: 488That is strange. I know at times he's out of town so maybe it was more important to get it shipped out??? I'm just guessing now------

Thanked: 2Yeah, I know it seems a little odd. I know for a fact that Lynn is very talented an honing so it must have just been shipped out. It was just pulling at the hair and my other razor just sliced right though.

Once you get it honed I would like to hear your opinion before I place an order. I missed out the first time around, so it has given me time to do some research and there seem to be very mixed reviews as others have noted. I also see mixed reviews for brushes, soaps, creams, etc, so I guess its a fairly subjective thing.
If someone is able to hone it without too much difficulty and get a good shave out of it, then I am sold.
Now just need some definitive feedback on the Livi strop query and I will hand over my soul again.
