I just didn't know if I was going to need a coarser hone first.

So what is needed to get shave ready? The whole deal?

Chances are you'll have to go throught from 1k to whatever you choose to finish on. If it has issues, you may need something more coarse to grind her into shape.

Thanked: 13245Something you have to understand on these, many (better than 50%) have heel problems and shoulder problems that might actually need dremel work to even get the edge to touch the hone, many have grind problems and spine problems...
Now when you get them from some of the Reputable guys out there, this stuff has been corrected for you and they have sent you a shave ready razor but buying one for $15 off e-bay you are getting into way more then you think...
When I say reputable that doesn't mean everyone that says "Shave Ready" either, in my eyes that means Ken and Craig....

Better cross your toes too, imo.

If the blade was shave ready and just needs a touchup, you shouldn't have a problem. If it's beat up, you can still get it ready, but there's an old philosophical statement that says, "given an unlimited amount of time, all combinations of things must be possible."
