I've never used a Sheffield razor that I thought was worth keeping.

Thanked: 66I have to agree 110% my huge Joseph Rogers wedge is my best shaver and even with my newbie honing skills, it is my best shaver. Matter of fact just used it about 15 minutes ago. Although I will soon find out what my c-mon stainless feels like after gssixgun hones her up and ships it back I suspect he should have her soon.

The gold dollar - double arrow is the most overrated razor. Coming in a close second is the sight-unseen razor sold at some fine online establishments

Thanked: 1936When I first started this sport I picked up a few "frenzy" razors & then thought they were the "best". As time has gone by and my experience has grown I realized that the market doesn't necessarily know what shaving is all about. I have come to realize by this experience that there are good and not so good razors by every mfg out there. Some razors may have been great, only to have a knife guy to buff the crap out of them & ruin the heat treatment on them before I got it. Some razors may have been ok/middle-of-the-road and I have gotten lucky and got a good one or not so lucky and got bad one. Some razors respond better to different stones.
Back to the OP:
Which popular razor brands to you consider overrated? Any of them that won't hold an edge or I have paid too much for...or both.Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott

Thanked: 1262Overrated does not mean that someone thinks the razor is crap.
o·ver·rate (vr-rt)
tr.v. o·ver·rat·ed, o·ver·rat·ing, o·ver·rates
To overestimate the merits of; rate too highly.

Thanked: 94how about most under rated razors?
1. Red imp 132 (mean lil shaver)
2. Dovo best 6/8 (cant stand the 5/8, but that 6/8 is a great shave all day)
3. Original Schulze 7/8 (hard to find, well worth the trouble)
