Awesome, thank you.
Out of interst, what do you like about the razor so much? Im no fussed about individually numbered, logo etc, but I figure if it was designed by the expert members here at SRP, it must be pretty good - al the right features, materials etc.
Would I getter a better product with a different item? (Ie is it this price for exclusivity etc, or because it is a great razor and worth the money without the logo etc)

Andrew the following is just IMHO ....... Robert Williams is a custom razor maker and that is his sole vocation. IOW, it is not a part time hobbiest pursuit. So he is expert at his craft and makes great razors. The design of the SRP LE is an unusual smiling shape which you'll only find in custom or vintage razors. Factory made razors AFAIK, are not producing anything like this, as it is not a simple task that lends itself to mass production.
Speaking for myself, I love a smiling blade for shaving. If you hone your own there may be a slight learning curve to pick up on the 'rolling X' but it is not difficult once you get the hang of it. Robert uses 01 steel on these and it is great stuff for razors as far as sharpness, edge holding and durability. From what I've read in this ongoing thread most of the posters have been very happy with the razor once they've got it in hand. YMMV.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this model vs another one he makes "the purist"

I've not had that model. The obvious difference is that it is not a folding razor. A deal breaker for me, although like the SRP LE, most guys who've posted about them have been very happy with them. Nothing wrong with a non folder I guess but I am more of a traditionalist, and I think the folding scales contribute to the maneuverability and ergonomics of a razor.

Was just wondering because there's a lead time of a few months on the SRP custom, and I love them both... hmm, may have to start with the purist while I wait for the srp custom to be built

I took the same approach as RMarsh a few months back. Put in an order for my SRP razor and couldn't wait so i found another on line that is a joy to use. Andrew you won't be sorry with a Williams.
BTW, #135 just arrived the other day. Great razor! The value and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things.........as to do ordinary things with the perception of their enormous value.

Thanked: 324The wait time is now very short and there are still some slots left. I expect everyone already on the list may get notified of impending production this month. There have been a lot of people that I haven't been able to contact or haven't responded, so it's coming close to being wrapped up. 144 just went out the door moments ago.
