Thanked: 3Got mine yesterday #146. I never realized the benefits of a smiling blade. It shaves beautifully easily hitting all my nooks and crannies. This is a very high quality razor.

Got a chance to use #29 for the extra special - take your time - Sunday shave this week.
From the notes I have 25 shaves with it - touch up has been a 6 pass .5 Diamond and 6 pass Crox. (once)
The whole smiling blade/magic throat-neck hair removal thing never cease to amaze me.
And this has been a very interesting collective experience - all of us with the same razor over time - and I can't thank JimmyHAD and Robert W. enough for making it happen...Support Movember!

Still a wonderful razor but... The edges of the spine are very sharp, and it's scratching the edges of my strops at the points where I make my 'flip.' Any ideas on how to 'break' the sharp edges a bit? I'm thinking of wrapping some silicone carbide sandpaper around a dowel, and then rubbing that up and down the sharp edges. I think that should do it.
Also.... I'm continually tightening the pivot. Any work-arounds for that? Maybe I could take it apart and add a tiny lock washer?
Any ideas/suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks,
Kennybruseth

Thanked: 324A little touch up with that SC paper solves any rough edge and if you are getting the pin loosening on you, a little loctite (or even beeswax) will stop it.

The spine ? I guess you could take and knock the areas down a bit. Alternatively give RW a call and ask if he can give it some attention. If I was doing it myself I'd want to use some abrasive that wasn't going to leave scratches. I'm not expert in that field so maybe someone who is will chime in.
I'd get a bit of blue thread locker for the pivot screw. A little dab will do you.

Thanks Robert. I should of emailed you in the first place - didn't want to bother you though.
It's a wonderful razor. I look forward to using it. I feel like I really don't need to ever buy another razor, but I'm sure, in time, I'll get over that ;-)
Thanks for the quick response. Have a good one.
