It takes a few months to get one so you have time. Tc

With the weight of it, it almost shaves your face by itself once you get it into position. Pretty easy to get the edge back too. I don't have a 12k yet but when it needs refreshed it comes right back to a shave ready status on my 8k.

Thanked: 5TC -- I've been accused of being patient... Almost to a fault. The best things come...
Willie -- did you need to strop before your first shave with it? I'll have to dig out my old polishing stones to see what I have and what shape they are in. Haven't played with them in a while.

Welcome to SRP Spencer. It isn't necessary before the first time. If you know how to strop it wouldn't hurt anything, but if you don't it is possible that you might dull the razor. Give shaving a try first to see what the edge is like. Takes any possibility of a stropping mishap out of the equation. Same with polishing stones. Honing razors is an art unto itself. Experience with knives or tools is not necessarily helpful. Get a couple of ebay specials, in good condition, to practice honing/stropping. Save your pro honed razor to use and to compare your own results with the practice blades.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 0sst3wart, thank you for the quick reply. I ordered one from Robert about a month ago. He sent me a pm saying I had been put on the list but haven't heard anything since. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.

I shaved with it without stropping when I first got it. I stropped it after I refreshed it. I don't have everything Robert has in his honing progression at the higher end so I can only go as far as the 8K. I have a Swaty barbers hone but I'm not sure if its a step up or not with the 8k.
