Thanks for the nice words Bruce,
Yeah, I'd go along with the time frame you mentioned. There's very little info about this brand, and I've only seen one other Kirby pic with a different handle but same head.
I've used this maybe 30 times now, and the head still shows no sign of wear. Took me six months before I finally got up the nerve to try it a while back, and it was a pleasant surprise. The weight and balance is good, and the head design makes for a rather unusual shaving experience.

Thanked: 5301am Shave
Razor: Homemade "Shiv on a Stick". It's an 11/16 Winova that had a huge chip, so I cut it down and put it into a steel rod... It shaves great, and the whole "fixed blade" feel is nice... Gets into the corners well.. But between being 11/16 and full hollow, it just feels too light for me... After all the time I spent making this thing, and making the case, it saddens me to say that this is not a keeper.
Brush: Custom 26mm Silvertip in Buckeye Burl from Dave Stephens. This is a keeper. By a landslide.
Cream: TOBS Avocado. It works great, and creates a lot of lather. Great when I started out, but now, it just feels flimsy compared to CarrieM's stuff, or TGQ... Glad I have it, but I won't replace it when it's gone.
Strop: TM Nylon and Horsehide.

Wednesday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Razor: Revisor
Brush: Ikon 24 mm silvertip
Soap: Palmolive
ASB: Davidof
AS: Old Spice Fresh Lemon
Result: Very good
I´m on a island that has the hardest water in Sweden (the whole island is standing on lime stone). This is extrem, really. I had to whip the Palmolive for maybe 5-7 minutes and then some again inbetween passes . It was the thinnest lather and I´m having trouble posting photos aswell (cell phone photos and mobil broadband connection), but in the end the two passes made me very clean, even though I had to work really hard for itLast edited by Mikael; 07-07-2010 at 08:30 AM.

This razor just seems to be the stubborn sort. The shave wasn't bad but the edge still is just not where I want it. Nevertheless 3 passes yeilded a nearly BBS shave. I may be able to strop out my edge problems but if it's not where I want it in the next couple shaves, I'll take it back to the stone. A shame really because my other 4 razors seem to be spot on.The older I get, the better I was
