Fbones,
I have a razor just like that one. It's a pretty decent shaver with my novice honing job... Do you have any information on the production of that particular model? I would love to know more about it. I found mine at an antique store and just don't know much about the New England Razor Co.
Thanks,
James

Wednesday morning
Pre: Hot Shower
Razor: John Wigfall & co "Bona Fida"
Brush: Custom turned Chrish 24 mm finest two band
Soap: Cella
AS: Dr Harris Sandalwood
Strop: Neil Miller linen/buffallo 30/50
Result: Mr Clean
Very clean, but I did have to do two passes + two touch ups (in the same area). I need a day off, too tired. Same yesterday: fantastic razor, but had to work hard and overly much to get there. Razor is a Sheffield 3/4 grind with a french point and very heavy (and lovely smoky horn scales). A strange but nice duck and ultra smooth/sharp thanks to Mr Neil Miller - I hit a hair on the edge, to try it out and the hair split like nothing.Last edited by Mikael; 09-15-2010 at 08:13 AM.

Razor: GD 108 (No Strop - Shave Ready)
Lather: Proraso White SS + Proraso + 8 drops Glycerin
Brush: Vulfix Silvertip
Post: Thayers Lavender
ASB: CarrieM After Shave Milk
EdT: Czech & Speake Dark Rose
This was intended to be a benchmark shave. In a recent chat about honing, Glen (AKA gssixgun) offered to send me a blade to use as I'm learning to hone. It arrived, and I've now done a "benchmark" shave to see how this blade can feel. I know I'm starting off with an edge about as good as it can be, because it was originally honed by Sham (hi_bud_gl).
The shave was smooth, and now I have a sense what to shoot for. I can taker her to the 4k/8k and see if it's possible for me to recreate the magic!

Thanked: 1072Wednesday Night
Location: Ronald McDonald House Sydney
Strop: Illinois 835
Razor: 6/8 Bengall in Translucent horn
Brush: Comoy Badger
Soap: Wahl Traditional Barbers Shavr Cream
A/S: Nivea Post Shave Balm
Being in a strange bathroom this shave was a little awkward and uncomfortable. I've been living in Ronald McDonald house for 3 days but this was the first time I've gotten around to having a shave. The sink was small and unfamilliar and everything felt out of place (I'm a little O.C.D.), and the water temp here is set a lot lower than home.
The Bengall came through for me though. A very satisfying shave, left me feeling smooth and made the place feel a little more like home."I aint like that no more...my wife, she cured me of drinking and wickedness"
