Post Week of September 26 SOTD - Sunday

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + Stephan's Conditioning Smooth Shave Creme
Music: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade, Op. 35.
Razor: 7/8" Maestro Livi, Hollow, Round point
    Strop: SRD Premium IV (50/70)
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Al Raz' Custom "Da Bomb" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Post-shave/Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    AS Splash: Floïd Spanish Blue
Result: Unfortunately, I don't own a W&B "The Celebrated" to keep up with the spirit of this Sunday's shave. Instead, I opted to go with something which I believe to me equally great; the Livi, whose aesthetic design and form converge seamlessly with its function to provide this razor its "natural flow". My experiments with of soaps/cremes continues. Today's trial was to experience the quality and performance of the lather resulting from mixing Lanolin- and Glycerin-based products. Al Raz' custom formulation has already proven itself to be one of the top contenders of thick and moist lather, but mixed with MWF, this creme really came out leaps and bounds ahead of anything I have tried to date. There are no appreciable visible differences, but underneath, this thick luxurious lather's performance was literally out of this world. The Lanolin gave "Da Bomb" an extra kick in moisturizing ability. What a shave. As Max put it: "Flawless. Zen. Nirvana. Heaven."

Hey all, first SOTD post here on SRP, quick photo more to come I'm sure!

I've found Proraso to work really well as a standard soap while learning straight razor shaving; creamy and cushioning. The Dovo was from SRP, great service and very sharp. Prep is always a hot shower, and post is always Alum Block then Thayers WH with occasional Trumpers depending on quality of shave.
+1 on what e-tom said, welcome to be part of the pack!!!

    Default Sunday Morning

    Razor: Radium
    Brush: Rooney Style 2
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
    ASB: Neutrogena
    Cologne: Brooks Brothers Country Club
Result: This razor isn't the fanciest thing, but it does give a nice smooth shave. I traded my normal scented after shave today for a little squirt of the new cologne that I got yesterday. Good stuff.

    Have a nice day.

Trying to get caught up on the restores and honing but I guess a back log is good too. All fine shavers! It's hard not to try and eat CarrieM's Almond shave cream!

Forget about the razors for a moment...check out those hones man. What you got there. I see Escher-ish like stuff, a few Cotis? Am I off? That is just fabulous

PS: I know what you mean about Karen's cremes...for me it's teh Black Raspberry Vanilla. I don;t know whether to lather it or put in in my coffee/tea in the morning? Great stuff...can't wait 'til she concocts a few custom scents that I can try out

An Uberlather with MWF is a brilliant idea! The soap is a great performer, but is occasionally difficult to work with (e.g. it dries out very quickly on the face IME).

But, MWF is actually tallow based soap that has lanolin in it. It's not lanolin based as far as I know.
