Bill,
Congrats on your boar purchase...looks very photogenic too
David,
That is truly a gorgeous blade. Enjoy it. The scales look to have a satin finish to them...very nice.
PS: The blades looks shorter than your normal 3". Do you know how long it is?

Thank you Robert, the scales are a red lava Acrylic, in some spots almost see-through with pearlescent swirls in it. As far as blade size, its about 2 inches long and almost a full 8/8 on one side and 6/8 on the other, Kamisori style asymmetric grind. I will take more pictures of it soon since I think I will be shaving with it exclusively for a wile.
EDIT: The satin finish is due to my freehand photography coupled with low light conditions and high ISO. As tom suggested i shall use a tripod next time.

Robert, thank you very much. I was actually quite pleased with the composition of todays SOTD photo. The boar is different, and a much cheaper addition to my rotation than more blades, so I thought I'd give it a shot. So far, so good...
Nice SOTD image you posted today. Sounds like a great way to start the day!

Its a lot heavier and bigger than you'd think from the pictures. I think its actually bigger than any razor I own. I'll do a comparison shot when i get home.

I love that razor...and I love the quote in your signature line "Cheap Tools is Misplaced Economy.
Always buy the best and highest grade of razors, hones or strops. Then you will be prepared to do the best work.
- N. LeBlanc, Essay on barbers' razors, razor hones, razor strops and razor honing 1895"
It's probably been there a while, but I just noticed it. Oh so very true
