Post Week of October 24 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 11/16" C-Mon HF, Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 25mm Vestavia Silvertip Badger
Überlather: Pré de Provence Shave Creme + Pré de Provence Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
AS Balm: Truefitt & Hill Grafton
Result: I have so far experienced glycerin-, tallow-, and lanolin-based soaps/creme, but was itching to try something that was Shea Butter-based. So logically, after receiving my new "Shea Butter"-based Pré de Provence Shave Creme and soap, I field tested them. First impressions were: "Woowwww...what a smell"!! Even my wife couldn't get enough. Performance-wise: Amazing überlather!! super moist, super slick, and super great scent. "All the world's a stage" for the C-Mon...What an opening scene for this blade to shine...It was as if the C-Mon was the main actor and the "Pré de Provence" the screenwriter [I guess that would make me the producer, heh? ]. Seriously out of this world performance. The super thick lather was an 'almost' perfect frictionless venue upon which the C-Mon did what it does best; to clean the accumulated garbage from yesterday. Throughout the entire duration of the shave, not once did I feel this blade touching my skin - a glowing testament to the performance of this Shea Butter-based überlather. This is good stuff guys. Throw in a little moisturizer and AS balm, and I am good to go.

When I can get it right I really like it but there's a trick to it.

All in all, there are soaps & creams already out there that are just as good and much easier to lather so unless you just want to have some, I'd recommend passing it by.

This Diamond razor has been here for some time. It was slated to go for Pro honing, but I've been getting such good results that I honed it myself this morning. These Japanese NOS razors of Swedish steel are simply amazing! The report of the make-up of the Üddeholm steel is included with the razor.
From what I'm told, the availability of the H.Diamonds at reasonable prices has dried up, but if one comes your way, my advice is to buy it!

    Absolutely incredible!
