Night Shave Number 2 , Lets start with the Razor, I rehoned it last night after it gave me an OK shave, and let me say this thing is popping hairs in my sleep it is so sharp. Couldn't even feel it cut my whiskers but it did! Now the Uberlather, I have been dying to try Cyril Salters Vetiver (due to Max of course) and let me say this uber with SRD Vetiver is AH MA ZING ! I loved ever bit of it from beginning to end and the scent lasted throughout the shave to right now as I am typing this, and even though I will use the Carven EDT for tomorrow I sprayed some even though Im going to sleep in a bit, Great relaxing scent. This is what shaves are supposed to feel like.

THANKS FOR READING GUYS!!! LOVE THE PICS TOO!!! CANT WAIT FOR TOMORROWS!!

How many of us do the hot towel bit? I know I don't...but it looks really really good and pleasant. I think I may try it over one of these weekends when I have a little more time on my hands in the AM .
I started doing the towel after I shave which is very nice also. I rub the pre-shave into my face while still in the shower. I don't know if a hot towel would be any better.
I am alsways amazed when watching these videos because the razor seems to glide effortlessly. When I shave, it does not seem to be as smooth. I don't know if that is because the blade is in my hand and I can feel everything or my technique is bad or the razors not as sharp as this or BOTH .

Oh well, the beat goes on!!

I love the hot towel, but be careful...it's easy to fall asleep I do this at home on Sunday when I have extra time. I soak towels in water and tea tree & peppermint hair conditioner (I love the smell, very relaxing). I wring the towels out and put them in a crockpot on low for about an hour and then I'm ready. I normally make 2, 1 for preshave & 1 for post.

Have a great day, and thanks for sharing the video.

Post Week of October 24 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Pre-Shave Oil: Truefitt & Hill
Razor: 6/8" Dubl Duck "Goldedge", Full Hollow, Spike Point
    Brush: 24mm Thäter Silvertip Badger
Überlather: NancyBoy Replenishing Shave Creme + Proraso Shave Soap + Glycerin
Astringent: Thayer's Witch hazel (Lavender, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Dr. Hauschka Quince Creme
AS Balm: Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar
Result: If you haven't tried "NancyBoy" shave creme, you gotta give it a shot. Despite the "cheesy" name, this thing is truly up there in the ranks of all time greatest cremes. It is amazingly moisturizing and thick. The replenishing creme has a strong cucumber smell (which I am not too crazy about), so I mixed in some Proraso to dial down the scent. Worked to some extent and I got a slicker lather than I bargained for . Once the lather and prep was done, the Duck came quacking into action and wiped the face clean...I mean "squeaky" clean!! Incredible feeling. Finish it with some T&H balm and Dr. Hauschka creme (this stuff is really good too), and I am ready for the rest of my day. I just feel sad that it is over and I will have to wait another 24 hrs to repeat the process.

Great shots gentlemen . You guys inspire me...as the famous line (modified) goes: "You make me want to be a better shaver". Have an equally great Thursday .

PS: Thanks for the "hot towel" comments.

Glenn: The crockpot idea is interesting + soaking towel in a scented milieu. Will give this a shot.
