First time shaving with this one in a while. Very nice edge. I think I finally got my coticule down path.

    Have a great week!

You can´t win them all . This morning was not the best shave ever. I was in a hurry and everyone wanted to talk to me when I was lathered up and our youngest (11 yrs old) threw up. I cut myself on the throat, yes - cut throat , while trying to get ready fast (by only doing one effective pass). I like this razor though, nice touch to it and the blade is very good.
    Mikael,
Sorry to hear about your "hurried" shave and the resulting cut . But glad that you are OK. It happens

I took the W&B to the hones last night, I think I need to completely reset the bevel or send this one out. I can't seem to get an even bevel on this one. I gave it the shave test and it was quite obvious that it is not there.

Have a great day gentlemen, you deserve it!
    Glenn,
I do feel your pain and frustration...Isn't it irritating when the bevel is just not quite there (no matter what you do)? I have the same problem with my Torrey frameback. Although it is much better now, it is a pain to hone. My problem is that the Torrey is not sitting flat on the hones and gets uneven contact along the edge. Send yours out...it looks like a beautiful blade.

Thanks, Rene. I consider myself very fortunate to have it after Glen worked his magic. It looked nothing like this before he did his thing!

What a way to start the work week! Tried to bowl lather the Honeybee Essentials and wound up with a weak bubbly soap that wouldn't hold up on the face. As a result, the first pass was not the greatest at all. The blade felt like it was tugging (but I know it was just the lack of adequate prep because Glen put an outstanding edge on this baby when he restored her) and I knicked myself under the chin. For the second and third passes, I decided to face lather, and that is where this Semogue really shines. I found myself drowning in thick, rich lather and the blade suddenly seemed to glide around the face.

The scent of the rosewood cedar was perfect for a fall morning and the Le Labo fragrance never fails to set my mood right.

    Have a great Monday, gentlemen!
    Hey Bill,
Sorry about the cut buddy. Man...between you, Mikael and Glenn, you guys are having one heck of a Monday . Glad your like the Semogue though...I am still on the fence with this one, but may soon get one just to try

Instead, I am sure that Tuesday will be much more rewarding.

    Robert,

Thanks for the concern. My cut was, thankfully, nothing more than a knick. I recommend trying a Semogue. I was on the fence for quite a while, but soon realized that they are far more affordable to experiment with than a high end badger and, if you don't like it, they sell pretty easily on the forums...

    Tom,
Those are some beautiful Thiers-Issards...I really lik the workback design on each. Simply elegant

Thanks Bill...I am still trying to decide between the SOC and the 830 (the one you got).

I took a nick under the ear myself yesterday because my wife was home and talking while I was shaving.... I'm sometimes not a good listener..

Hope you heal soon, Mikael, and the little one feels much better!
It's called "selective" hearing. We men have evolved to the point where we've got this thing nailed down . I hope your nick heals fast Bill
