Default Week of November 28 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Razor: 7/8" Solingen Stainless (Friodur Blank), 1/4 Hollow, Round Point
    Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger
Lather: Queen Charlotte "Celestial Woods" Shave Soap
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Result: Today (like yesterday) is a very busy day and I have a major grant due. As such, need to stick to known hardware, i.e., the Solingen Stainless (same as yesterday). As for software. that's an entirely different question. I received my Queen Charlotte Soap (Celestial Woods) from Matthew (aka, mretzloff) yesterday and took it for a test drive today - Thank you Matthew . This soap is more like a creme (hard creme or soft soap...however you want to think of it). Either way, the bottom line is; (1) amazing lather with a "generous" amount, (2) very nice cushion that lasts, (3) excellent glide, and last but not least (4) amazing scent. Way to go Matthew. There are only two minor downsides to this soap/creme; (1) it needed ~2-4 times the "pea-size" amount I normally use with other "Best of the Best" cremes to achieve the same amount of lather, and (2) It dries/disappears after ~5 minutes sitting in the bowl after the shave. The latter is a new parameter that I now use to judge soaps is the quality of the lather "shelf-life" (or how long it lasts and retains its integrity) after it's been sitting around for several minutes. The two points are really specific to me and should not be taken as anything bad about the soap. After all, this is a first try and I will need to keep experimenting to find the sweet spot. Overall, I really like this soap and give it 2-thumbs up. Matthew: please give my kudos to your mother and her quality soaps...you (and her) have definitely made a believer out of this customer. Of course the Solingen performed just as expected...reliable with no fuss, and no surprises or "ooops-factors". Clean and simple. Now, I am off to send this darn PITA of a grant that's been nagging me for the past couple of months.

Hot shower, Stephans Conditioning shave cream rub
    Warm Oil
    Hannah made Ceramic Bowl
    Badger brush
Gentleman's Signature Shave soap combined with a small bad of AOS Cream.
    SRD P1 25 felt 50 leather
    Torrey Celebrated barbers notch
    AOS Aluminum
Nancy Boy Cooling after shave gel

The Torrey scored again. What a nice shaver it is, plows through whiskers with no fuss at all. Never did the combination soap/cream until this evening. It was smooth as silk, very slick and very thick. Nice shave. Did the BBT and it went very well.

    Upgraded my FIOSto 25/25. Faaaaaast!!!

    Enjoy the evening.
