Nice blade Glenn...81 pages is quite an accomplishment. Hope the other department goes smoothly

The Hasselblad's are the Best of the Best-of course, but you can do nice shots with all cameras with a clean lense.

It is a difference if you will produce pictures for a forum or you will produce prints in 13'' x 19''.
Yes and no Tom...Yes that the lenses on the Hasselblad have always been Zeiss (at least from what I remember - the best of the best)...Also, the operator/photographer makes up 80% of the equation. However, for the remainder 20%, the Hassellblad is a different animal than most cameras. Of course, you have to know more than just "point and shoot" and you have to have an understanding of photography, but once you shoot with a Hasselblad, you really know the difference...that's just my opinion. And that 20% makes a HUGE difference in teh quality of the photos. The blacks (and WB) in Hasselblads is unmatched by modern cameras.

David: I would love to own a film Hasselblad, but it's a pain in the neck getting those developed, scanned etc...don't have much time for film these days. Digital is the way to go, but their digital line is $$ ($14K to start)

Little bit bit disappointed with the factory edge on this new Wacker, but, only because the edge on my Mod.4 was so good- perhaps my expectations were a tad high...
    Hi Marc,
Beautiful blade, but factory edges are just that...a factory edge. One has to hone these properly to take full advantage of the edge. Factory edge will rarely (never say never) deliver the same smooth shave.

PS: Do let me know your schedule while in Torrance so I can see about coming down and saying hello.

    Glenn,
Fabulous and stunning blade. They should be called WonderMax. Wouldn't it be nice if our daily shaves could act as a crystal ball? predicting how the day turns out, eh?

It's always nice to see you Brad and happy new year (and first shave of 2011). Sounds like you rung 2011 with a bang with a wonderful choice of blade and soap

    Thanks Mate,
Silly me, I was so happy with the Mod.4 that it made this one bad, but, I had forgotten that it was John Crowley that put the edge on my Mod.4 - it wasn't just factory. I'll be running it over the Naniwas later today and finish it on my Oozuko, I am sure that will sort it out.

    Robert,

The Cade has a wonderful scent. IMHO, that is by far the best attribute of this uberlather. I did not find it particularly efficacious otherwise, but that may be owing to the fact that this was my first lather attempt with this product. I will give it a few more goes before I render final judgment, but for now I'm appreciating some other products much more...

The ASB, on the other hand, is quite nice!

    Default Thursday Night

    Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
    Prep: hot Shower/Hot Towel
    Strop: Illinois 835
    Brush: Comoy Badger
Uber: Col. Conk Bayrum, Faulding Shave Cream, Glycerine
Razor: Custom Simmons Barbers Pet 5/8
    Ast: Dickinsons Witch Hazel
A/S: Nivea Replenishing post shave Balm
Result: A little dissapointing actually. I just gave this one a touch-up as it was pulling a little and under 50x magnification there were a few micro chips. I was finishing it on the C12k and was getting a LOT of suction between blade and stone. I think I did a couple of bad strokes there. Anyway it was getting late and I thought I'd just give it a try as is. No good, I'll take it back to the hones and maybe finish on the Thuri this time. I took the pic before the shave so here it is.
    Have a great day boys.
    Grant
