Why coticule and BBW? ... There are not a logical answer, the synthetic are efficient as a well engineered stuff,....but those natural stones are not as easy to be explained as their features, once I started to know them I started to love them.
Glen (gssixgun) said the truth: "Shaptons are an exact science, and Coticules along with every other natural stone is a romance"

    Have a great day

Thank you Mark. The tang is not dark...that's just how it came out in the picture. Check out this link for NOS Japanese straights from JimR. That's where I got mine.

I received my razors freshly honed today, had a hard time choosing which one to use, but decided to shave with one I hadn't shaved with before.

Razor: F. Herder Abrahams Sohn No. 20(Full hollow 6/8) with Bakelite scales
Preshave: Hot water splash and Lush Ambrosia
    Soap: Tabac soap with Glycerine
    Brush: The Body Shop Synthetic
    Bowl: Big cheap bowl
Aftershave: Alum(no stinging) and De Vergulde Hand balm
Result: Awesome! Took off 5 days of growth.
