Default "The Razor that Fits Your face"

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Truefitt & Hill
Soap: Truefitt & Hill Triple-milled soap
    Strop: Ruprazor Filly
Razor: 6/8 Robeson "The Razor that Fits Your face" 16-C-250
Hone + Nagura: Nakayama and Chu nagura

Find this Robeson at an antique store yesterday for a sound. It has not seen a hone yet... intoduce it to the Nakayama that I have just acquired. What a fine shave!!! Have a great day Gens.

    Default Sunday

    Location: 32°2805N 93°5516W
    Music: Loverboy
    Prep: Hot Shower & Towel
    Preshave: Proraso
    Scuttle: 1.5 Dirty Bird
Soap: Cella & Speck – interesting combo
    Brush: New Forest 2211
    Razor: Dovo Bergischer Lowe
    Balm: Manetti & Roberts Rosewater
After Shave: Serge Lutens – Borneo 1834
Result: A good start to the week. The smell from the Cella & Speck is an interesting combo and very good; almost as good as Cella & P160. Topping it off with the Borneo 1834 makes me feel warm all day even with a slow drizzle. Have a good week gentlemen & ladies.

+1 Grant. With yours right up there at the top.

I always feel like I'm bringing meat and potatoes to a gormet potluck when I post here, but I guess the plain always makes the exceptional stand out.

    Soap: Patchouli goats milk
    Brush: Made Rite
    AS: Old Spice
Razor: Genco (blade) in what appears to be a rescale. Just found this at a junk/antique shop the other day and wanted to try it out. The scales are steel with the Holler's Special logo etched in. A quick hone and it did very well. I agree with Bluegill that American steel can be surprisingly smooth.

Has anyone ever seen scales like this before? Thanks for sharing all the beautiful photography and blades.

I have been admiring this set of scales during construction in the workshop forum. Most impressive work and a beautiful result! It is good to know the razor shall be used. Sweet!

I agree with you about the exceptional shots. Yours is not a basic razor. Great scales!! Very unique!

I can't speak for everyone else here but I usually shave with a plain Jane razor like the Genco's and Robeson's and they shave every bit as good as most of the fancier razors I have. Now the quality of the pictures everyone posts in the SOTDs is something to envy.
