Beautiful Fily Tom. Fabulous scales
I love this Sears shoulderless Otto. She is a beauty
Very very nice. Enjoy her for a long time to come my friend. I have the #41 (rescaled by Max) and I can attest to these blades' stiff grind. They don't mess around.
Indeed Mikael. This is an exquisite blade. I don't know who Quinton is, but Max certainly pulled another Maxterpiece out of his hat.
Fabulous setup.
José,
Beautiful W&B. That Celebrated looks amazing.
Beautiful hardware Glenn...Love the handle on that Thater. And a DD shines as bright as ever.
LOL
At least...probably a lot more my friend
Congratulations on your 1k Rene. Wonderful way to commemorate your father. I can tell you guys were very close. May he live forever in your heart and memories.
PS: Regarding that picture of you doing the splits: I am glad you already had kids man, because it hurts just looking at it, LOL.
Also, congratulations on your honing as well.

Week of March 6 SOTD - Monday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Music: Édith Piaf (La Vie en Rose) Brush (Rudy Vey): 26mm Rudy Vey w/TGN Grade A Silvertip Badger Razor: 15/16" Filarmonica DT #14, Full Hollow, Spike Point Strop: 0/5 (Torolf linen/Premium IV leather) Überlather: Cyril Salter "Wild Rose" Shave Creme + Trumper's "Rose" Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: D.R. Harris After Shave Milk After Shave Splash: D.R. Harris "Pink" After Shave Results: Since it was a "Rosy" kinda day, it was only fitting to commemorate this shave with one of my (and wife's) all time favorite classic songs, i.e., Édith Piaf's La Vie en Rose. The überlather was über nice. The Wild Rose of the Cyril Salter was intoxicating. The lather superb. The Rudy Vey custom brush performed like magic. I got this Filarmonica back from Matt on Saturday and it certainly needed more than just a touch up. She went back to the Coticule, followed by several laps on the Asagi using a "semi"-progression of Naguras/tomonagura and water. Just a few "very soft" laps on the leather strop and she was ready. The edge she took on was unlike any I had felt with this blade. She wiped the 3 days of growth like there was absolutely nothing there. This was a first for me with both good and "potentially" bad news. The good news is that I loved the feel of this shave. The bad news is that a new standard has been set and the bar has been raised. I am going to be judging the performance of the rest of my razors to the same standard as this Filarmonica's.

Have an AMAZING Monday gentlemen. Superb SOTDs today.

Thanked: 2516Thanks Robert! I will have to go easy (Mild DE) for a couple of days while this slice heals. Being half German I look at it as a Heidelburg Scar! LOL
Congrats on your 1K post Rene'! Cool pic of your Dad (and I assume that little shaver is yourself) Cooool!
Robert, your pics are outstanding and I'm having unnatural thoughts about that beautiful custom brush of yours. Awesome wood and style on that beauty!Last edited by Maximilian; 03-07-2011 at 05:13 PM. Reason: http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/shave-day/61162-how-keep-our-sotd-tidy-organized.html
