Wohoho..wait a second guys. First, you guys are trying to pawn off my Maxterpieces to Germany and Spain (without my knowledge) and today I am sending a Buddel I don't even have to Sweden, LOL? It's a conspiracy, I tell you...a conspiracy. I am convinced of that now, LOL.

The Arlington uberlather was so moisturizing I dint need my asb at all. This shave was definitely one for the books. Also, it looks like my Nephew is the newest recruit to SRP, he did not want to stop making lather hahah or give up the badger.
Very nice Matt. Glad you like the Arlington. Excellent performer. Congrats on getting your nephew hooked, LOL. As the famous Motel 6 (I think) commercial would have it: Welcome...Once you check in, you never check out, LOL.

Loved your shot today, by the way. You have really become quite the photographer. Always beautiful compositions! Inspiring stuff

    About the honing:
The black one yesterday was honed on 1K Chosera followed by a La Dressante au Bleu Coticule.
Did heavy slurry and diluted until the edge was maxed out. Finally did 40 strokes on a Nakayama Maruichi finisher

The white one was honed on 1-5-10K Chosera, and finished on my Y/G Escher.

Both came out great, Couldn't ask for any more really. If I have to choose, I would go for todays edge. I've had the Escher for a long time, so I know it really well. And knowing the stones is a good thing
Besides, the Choseras are amazing stones. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Thank you for the kind words maestro.

Your honing experiment is awesome . Both eschers and JNats give fabulous edges. I haven't used my Escher as much, but she will come out soon enough. I may at some point get me a Naniwa Chosera or two (heard a lot of good thing about them...especially the lower grit one). In the meantime, I have on order from Japan the Shapton pro series (1k, 2k, 5k, 12k). I will be an experiment of my own soon (I think you know the one I talked about here, post #41). Rene (aka, nicknbleeding) sent me 3 exact same blades for this experiment (Geneva Cutlery). They will undergo the two series of honing (3 in each series). I will start with series 1 (when I get the stones in a week or two).

Yessir, I am eagerly awaiting the results of that experiment. It will be really interesting to hear the results from that test. It's in my subscribed posts list
The Shapton Pro's are serious tools, Robert. Congrats!

    Thanks buddy!
It really is a great shaver as well. Similar to the Filarmonica's. Not identical, but close.
(The spine is about 20% slimmer)
And the price is much better. Good deals in my opinion.

They are quite similar, perhaps a tad heavier (minute, if any) ground than some of the Filarmonica's, like the DT or the Medallion Taurino.
The one model I was referring to is the EPBD. Those things are quite much heavier than my Pamera's.

I'm sorry for being a bit unclear in my previous post on this subject.

Edit: I'll try to snap a picture from the front of the various models of the Filarmonica's and add that to my SOTD tomorrow. If that's ok.

    Edit 2. Adding picture.
